The Aurora Project

For my 2024 Design Thesis, I worked to create an educational app surrounding the topic of astronomy.
Astronomy and design are two of my greatest passions, so for my thesis I decided to take the challenge of combining the two to showcase my abilities in UX as well as Digital Product Design.
I worked with Figma and Adobe Suite to create a working app prototype highlighting my illustrative design style.

This process helped hone my skills in design research, UX Design, and design iterations-
I started by researching my target audience- Their design preferences, schedule, income, and interests.
Using this information, I began my drafting, creating wireframes and style guides to create a base design. I created a draft app and tested it with peers and my target audience to refine my design and the app flow. From the critique I created the final version of my app- A sleek app style in terms of font and color palette, paired with handmade assets such as the planets and illustrations.
This project is a mix of my interest in design research and history as well as my creative interests in illustration.
